Swanage Carnival Showground, better known as Sandpit field, which is adjacent to the seafront, is the centre of the week’s events;
it is on here that we have daily entertainment in the arena with such things as
dog shows, country sports, children’s races, bands and displays.
Around the showground
are craft and retail outlets, sideshows, children’s inflatables, roundabouts, swingboats
and trampolines.
We have delicious food outlets to cater for most tastes, the carnival
refreshment tent supplies a choice of fresh food and a mouth watering selection
of home made cakes, tea and coffee.

Swanage carnival, we have a good selection for you to choose from along with a wide
range of strobe merchandise.
Sandpit field is also a wonderful vantage point to watch the firework
displays, which are on for three nights during the week. All our events are listed
in the
carnival programme where you
can see times and dates of the week’s entertainment.
Events taking place include Scruffs Dog Show, Boules, Donkey Derby, Country Sports,
Beating
Retreat and Extreme Saturday.
The Carnival Arms in the Marquee
The carnival bar, situated in the marquee, is
open daily from midday 'till
late. Here you can get a nice cool drink of your choice
and sit in the beer garden overlooking the bay to relax and enjoy your drink.
Live Music in the Marquee
For five nights throughout the week, there is live music in the marquee with exciting
bands to entertain you. This is a great place to chill out with a drink from the bar and to get close and really experience the sights
and sounds of some superb entertainers.
